One of the few sports to be played pretty much all year round, tennis is a fantastic sport to bet on.
The good news is that Sky Bet boasts a wide range of tennis betting options for you to explore. There are a huge number of tournaments to bet on, with some of the most popular including ATP Vienna 2026, ATP Basel 2026, WTA Santiago de Querétaro 2026, WTA Curitiba 2026.
Available markets to bet on include match winner, total sets and games, set score, total tie breaks, handicaps and so much more.
You can place your tennis bets on the major upcoming matches, which you can find displayed on the main tennis homepage. If you wish to bet on a particular tournament or Grand Slam event months in advance you can find these under ‘Competitions’.
With plenty of boosts, promotions and offers to explore, betting on tennis has never been easier with Sky Bet.
You can place a tennis bet in two different ways: the outcome of an individual match, or who you think will win the tournament outright.
We offer outright tennis odds on all the ATP and WTA tour events as well as the Grand Slams, such as our French Open tennis betting market, season-ending Finals, and even the team-based tournaments like the Davis Cup.
You can bet on the player you think will win a tournament ‘on the nose’, i.e. your bet lands if they lift the trophy, or each way, where you’ll score a return on your wager if your selection loses in the final.
As far as individual match tennis betting is concerned, we have dozens of bet types for you to consider. The most straightforward is simply betting on the player you think will claim the victory!
Other popular ways to bet on the outcome of the game include handicaps (a theoretical handicap on the favourite’s score, or a head start for the underdog), and correct score, where you’re trying to predict what the final set score will be.
The beauty of tennis betting is that you can dive deeper. There are a wide range of other markets, including (but are not limited to):
- First set winner
- First set score after two/four/six games
- Total games
- Total sets
- Total tie breaks
- Games per set
- Player A or Player B to win a set
- Both players to win a set
- Player to win/lose first set and win/lose match
And many more!
It likely won’t be a shock to learn the four Grand Slams are the most popular tennis tournaments to bet on.
They get underway each January with the Australian Open, before the action moves to the clay courts of Roland Garros for the French Open in May/June.
All eyes then look to South-West London for the iconic Wimbledon in June/July, before the major calendar is completed by our US Open tennis betting in August/September.
Don’t forget: the ATP and WTA tours run throughout the year. This is the elite level of men’s and women’s tennis – with the best players heading to the ATP and WTA Finals at the end of the season.
Sky Bet also offers tennis odds for the lower-grade action of the Challenger and ITF tours, as well as occasional events such as the Olympic Games and the team tournaments.
If you are interested in live tennis betting, you can view the relevant markets from our ‘In-Play’ tab on this page. Alternatively, you can navigate to our general in-play betting channel, where you will find all in-play events from all sports.
As with any sport, there is no secret formula to betting on tennis. However, it is possible to conduct research, to gain a better understanding of the current form of the two players in a match, as well as their head-to-head records against one another. This information might hold some of the keys to predicting who will win.
It’s also worth considering what type of surface the match is being played on: although a generalisation, big servers tend to thrive on grass and hard courts, whereas agile, fleet-footed players may reserve their best work on clay.
You can also follow the tennis bet tips of noted pundits and analysts; but remember, these are not guarantors of success in your betting by any means.
If your player enjoys a ‘walkover’ – i.e. their opponent withdraws from the match before the start with injury – then your bet is voided and your stake returned.
Before end of 1st set, all Match Result bets will be void. Other markets would be void as well (if undetermined). After end of 1st set, depending on the tournament (ATP/WTA/Grand Slam/Challenger/ Davis & Fed Cup) Match Result sets would be settled as win / void - (bets on the winner paid out, bets on the player who retired would be void) ITF/UTR/Exhibitions Match Result bets would be void. Other markets would be void (if undetermined) for all tournament types. Rules can be found here.
A handicap is either a head start for the underdog, i.e. +1.5 in a best-of-five set game, or a handicap on the favourite’s score, e.g. -1.5. The handicap figure is added/subtracted from the actual final set score. So, if a match ended 3-2 in sets to the favourite, their handicap bets would lose (-1.5 in a 3-2 scoreline sees the underdog win). Conversely, add 1.5 to a 3-2 score and the underdog prevails, hypothetically, 3.5-3.
