Greyhound Racing betting odds with Sky Bet

Bet on Greyhound Racing on Sky Bet. You can find odds and place bets on 248 Greyhound Racing events, taking place on various Greyhound Racing racecourses.

How does Greyhound Racing betting work?

Track down the latest races via our Greyhounds tab, find the dog you want to bet on, tap the odds and away you go.

To place your greyhound racing bets at Sky Bet, simply search the race you want to wager on using the carousel of times you can see on screen – individual meetings are also available via the dropdown menu.

Once you have found the dog you want to bet on, click on the odds next to their name to add the selection to your Betslip. Enter your chosen stake in the box, remembering to tick the EW box if you want to go each way.

Always double check the details before hitting the Place Bet button when satisfied.

Don’t forget, we offer live streaming for many greyhound meetings across the UK and Ireland, so you can even cheer your dogs home via our website and app.

What is the best way to bet on Greyhound Racing?

There is no single best way to bet on the dogs, with the unique qualities of each race dictating the method with which you might want to have a flutter.

For example, if you have a strong feeling about a short-priced favourite then the best way to bet might be ‘on the nose’, e.g. win only. Alternatively, if you like the chances of a long odds outsider, betting on them each way gives you a wider margin for error if they don’t win the race but do finish in the places.

What to look for before betting on Greyhounds?

Betting on a greyhound race is like solving a puzzle, with numerous elements to be considered before you get to your selection.

You should always check the recent form of each dog, as well as study how well they fare against a specific grade of opponent. Are they ready to step up in class? Do they generally succeed at a particular level? Do they have previous victories at a specific track to their name?

You can also look to the form of the dog’s trainer/owner and how they fare in this particular race type. Checking the greyhound’s pedigree is also useful in identifying those with plenty of potential.

How do you pick a Greyhound winner?

If it was easy to pick out a greyhound winner, everybody would be doing it!

The key to being successful is to do your homework. You may be able to pick a winner or two by sheer luck, but in the long run you’ll need to develop a system of identifying repeated winners – how you do that will be the result of trial and error.

But as mentioned above, checking a dog’s form, their pedigree and their win rate at each grade of racing is an excellent starting point, as well as tracking their previous race times to see if improvement is being made from one start to the next.
