Manchester City are the strong favourites after thrashing Liverpool 4-0 and Newcastle 3-1 in the previous rounds. They have also already won the EFL Cup this season. Chelsea are second favourites under new manager Liam Rosenior, having scored 17 goals across four rounds including a 7-0 win over Port Vale. Leeds and Southampton are the outsiders, though Southampton stunned Premier League leaders Arsenal 2-1 in the quarter-finals. Check the Sky Bet FA Cup outrights for the latest prices.
Crystal Palace won the 2025 FA Cup, beating Manchester City in the final for their first ever trophy. Palace were knocked out in the third round this season by sixth-tier Macclesfield.
It is rare but not impossible. Southampton, currently in the Championship, have beaten Fulham and Arsenal to reach the semi-finals. The last team from outside the top flight to win the FA Cup was West Ham in 1980. Leeds are also in the Championship and could face a fellow second-tier side in the final if both progress.
The winners receive a place in the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League group stage. The winning club also collects approximately £2.12 million in prize money. Semi-final winners receive £1.06 million and losing semi-finalists take home £530,000.
The FA Cup is a straight knockout competition with no replays. If a match is level after 90 minutes, it goes to extra time and then penalties. There are no away goals rules. The semi-finals and final are played at Wembley as neutral venue fixtures.
The standout moments include Southampton beating Arsenal 2-1 in the quarter-finals, Man City hammering Liverpool 4-0 on the same weekend, Macclesfield (National League North) knocking out defending champions Crystal Palace in the third round, and Port Vale from League One reaching the quarter-finals for the first time since 1954.
